Now celebrating its 50th Anniversary, Chichester Festival Theatre has undergone many artistic and physical changes since it opened in 1962, growing from simple origins as a ‘tent in the park’ summer festival to our current status as a critically-acclaimed and award-winning theatre.
After 50 years, the building and surroundings are understandably suffering from the effects of wear and tear.
RENEW aims to sustain and improve the unique Grade 2* Festival Theatre, and enhance its significant contribution to the district and county economy. We are working sympathetically with the original design to create a theatre with facilities fit for the 21st century.
